Forgive me if I'm telling everybody something they already know but I just read this article by a doctor and he said that diabetics are at greater risk for developing complications from Covid-19 because higher levels of sugar in the blood decrease the amount of white blood cells needed to fight off infections. I knew we were prone to infection but reading this straightforward, easy to understand sentence has clarified things for me.

If you read the article he places diabetics above heart conditions but I find the article is well written and does not scare me and i feel better for having read it, more informed. If i understand it I can increase my ability to fight off infections by keeping my blood sugars in check and that is definitely something i can focus on doing and i feel good that i can take some action to help myself, I don't have to hide in the basement from the "covids"
