My 4yo t1d had strep throat last week. She was given a shot of penicillin. Since then, her numbers have been so wacky. I have increased her basal from 3.75 to 4.15. Her carb ratio might need to be adjusted as she goes to over 350 now nearly every time she eats. Do infections like strep cause further insulin resistance? Or maybe it's the antibiotics?
