From time to time I've dabbled with the MySugr app and recently they sent me an e-mail offering me a free Accu-Chek Guide Meter. I'm interested in the meter however I'm slightly concerned on the cost of the test strips. Does anyone have any experience with this meter? I want to know if it's worth it.
To compound my above question, I also have a new insurance and I want to make sure I can keep receiving my diabetic care. It seems Kaiser for Northern California prefers one type of meter and it's not the Accu-Chek, nor my current FreeStyle Insulinx meter. Does anyone have any advise on switching insurance or using Kaiser? I've never had them before.
