Seasoned diabetics, does the heat affect your blood glucose levels?

I'm pre-T2. I was at a barbecue for forth of July yesterday and I had some strange readings. After eating chicken, a sausage, and bean salad I checked my levels and the reading said 75. I know that I didn't eat that didn't eat that many carbs but my starting level was 94 so I was pretty concerned about the dip. I ate two mint chocolate chip cookies and retested twice after 30 and 60 minutes. My numbers went up to 90 then 101. I thought it was weird but figured I had gotten it under control. 30 minutes later I started feeling dizzy and my arms started to feel numb and painful. It felt like someone was jabbing needles in and out of them. I checked my levels again and they were back down to 73. I ate another cookie and after 30 minutes they rose to 100. Another 40 minutes role by and I'm feeling the pain in my arms again. I check and again my levels are low; 71. I eat three cookies and drink two sodas and my levels barely break 100 an hour later. Normally I'm between 90 and 160. Before and after meals. The only difference yesterday was that I was in the sun all day. I go inside to cool off and my levels stabilize slightly but I still don't get above 100 again. I ended up grazing on chez mix while checking my blood glucose every hour.
