Here's a bit of a recap of my life the last couple of months.
I finally got some good insurance and was introduced to dexcom, game changer for me but it had it's drawbacks. Dexcom didn't make a compatible app for my phone so I was stuck carrying the dexcom receiver along with everything else I needed throughout the day.
Thanks to this subreddit, I was introduced to xdrip, game changer part 2 for me. I was able to get rid of the receiver and just use my phone to monitor my glucose. Now I may be one of the few, but I sometimes don't like carrying my phone around at places like the gym, or just to go run a few errands. So my new dilemma was finding a way to track my blood without my phone.
Hello smart watches. I was reluctant to buy a smartwatch because I just didn't want one but then I saw that xdrip had a watch interface. I researched a bit to find that I could use the watch as a receiver instead of my phone when my phone was out of range.
I've been a t1 for over 20 years and I remember when I first was diagnosed the things we had to carry but now, we can track our blood non stop and have a watch or phone alert us.
Sorry for the good kind of rant, but I was just so elated I was able to find this out and just had to share
